"Your Mom Is The Coolest Mom Ever!"

I was watching my friend's daughter for the evening while they went to watch Avatar. With Little One's BFF over, I was free to sit back while the two of them played happily amongst themselves. My only thought was, "I'm so getting some homework done tonight!"

Well two 2.5 year olds is even more fun than one and I realized that I am just way too involved when it comes to kids (as if there is such a thing!). I sat on my butt for a total of oh, I dunno... 10 minutes? Here's some of the good fun we had:

Tunnelin'

Messin'

Stickerin' (and yes mini-trampolinin' too)

Applesaucin' (Aren't they ADORABLE!? Look at her little outstretched arrms waiting to pass the apples to her friend.)

And then, at the end of the night we all snuggled up on the couch with some stories and fell asleep... until her parents came, woke us all up, and snapped me back into the adult world by bragging about what an awesome movie Avatar was.

And Now For A Little Cheese...

On Children
~Kahlil Gibran

Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.

You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them,
but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.

You are the bows from which your children
as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite,
and He bends you with His might
that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness;
For even as He loves the arrow that flies,
so He loves also the bow that is stable.
